WAITING OR STOPPING?

I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling . – Philippians 3:14 NLT

So one way or the other, you are presently single.

By definition of the world, meaning you do not have a soul mate, a spouse, not married, alone, the definitive words go on and on.

It has generally also been coined as a “waiting” on the Lord to bring to you or bring you to your better half.

Waiting on the Lord in bringing you into His perfect will is the best position to take while you are single.

But are you waiting at a stand still?

Most people are not waiting, but actually stopping or have totally stopped.

Singles have stopped enjoying a good laugh, company, business idea ventures, education in improving skills and intellect, totally stopped trying!

Do not do that to yourself. While you are waiting, keep moving and improving. Do not stop.

If you miss it at a point, brush it off, learn from it and try again, but try this time by ‘waiting’ to hear God guide you, then go for it.

This is what waiting means. it means waiting to hear what He has to say about what you are thinking to do.

“Trust in the Lord with all your hear and lean not on your own understanding. In all your your ways acknowledge Him (that is, ask Him an wait on His guidance, before you decide what to do.) and He shall direct your path. Do not be wise in your own eyes ” – Proverbs 3: 5-7 NKJV

Being single does not mean you should put a full stop to your life.

So go ahead and live while you wait on Him, do not stop living.

Cause, in Christ being “single” doesn’t mean you are alone. He is right there beside you.

No more shackles

The hard part of believing

Yes, that means there also exist an easy part, and most of us take the easy way out, most people turn towards the path of despair(doubting, fear) rather than the path of hope( faith, believing). unfortunately this easy way out robs us of our victory and inheritance. Its just like handing over the mantle of authority of our lives over to the devil all over again.

Mark 11: 23 – 24.

23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Christ meant and still means every single word of this promise, meant for His born again children.

Just as He means every single word of His promises in the bible which is His will, if only we would take time out daily to feed on it, sit to study, dig and discover the treasures in His will, The Bible.

He is not a liar, the devil is the liar and the father of all lies.

Have you ever considered that it is so much easier to believe a lie than it is to believe the truth?

In fact, you make little or no effort mentally to believe the lie than you do when you try to believe the truth, what the word says concerning your situation mentally.

But that’s where we are missing it.

If you ‘try’ to believe the truth ‘with your mind'(reasoning), you will wear yourself out, cause if your believing is based on a sensory organ, then your believing will soon fizzle out by means of the same sensory organ.

Remember what the word of God says in 2 Corinthians 5: 7; “We walk by faith and not by sight” Then that means we should walk by believing the word of God and not by sight (our senses)

Take God at His word. And stand your ground! For He stands with you.

You see, we are always afraid to trust, due to fear of being mocked or fear of loosing or looking stupid, typically, the fear of people. this stops us from believing God.

2 Timothy 1: 7;  “But God has not given us the spirit to fear, but of love power and a sound mind.”

Proverbs 29: 25; “The fear of man brings a snare but whosoever puts his trust in God shall be safe.”

So how do you overcome fear and how do you believe God’s word?

Fear works hand in hand with doubt, and it all works on your mind.

Like 2 timothy 1 seven states it, it is actually a spirit, so you can speak to it either in agreement or disagreement.

Most times, people speak in agreement with fear and doubt when they are actually supposed to speak in disagreement.

All you need do is resist it. Anytime you recognize fear and doubt bringing scenarios and facts that stand against what the word of God has promised you, concerning any mater you have found His word for, simply say;  “I resist you fear in the name of Jesus. I believe God’s word concerning (fix in whatever it is you  are trusting Him for) and He shall see to it that I receive it according to His word, in Jesus name”

James 4: 7;  “Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”

Its not your job to figure out how it will become, your job is to feed your faith constantly with the word of God that supports your claims, until the manifestation comes. And it shall come.

You also do not have any business explaining your faith with faith extinguishers, you’ll only be undoing yourself.

Rather, I would advice you relate more with faith edifying people.

How else do you believe actively and receive?

Live a life of thanksgiving and when you pray, after you have asked Him for what you want, if you truly believe that you have received it, then rather than ask Him for it again the next time, thank Him for it instead.

Does this mean that doubt and fear would not come again on this issue?

Nah!

The devil doesn’t give up easy, its sad though that we Christians are usually the ones who do.

The devil will definitely bring more ‘ideas’ for you to doubt, fear and be weighed down, but that doesn’t mean you have lost your faith, it only proves that you are almost there, and he’s scared of you.

So all you need do is to keep resisting him in the name of Jesus, and he shall flee from you.

For, “At the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2: 10 – 11.

Believe with your heart and with the confessions of your mouth, do not let your senses determine your faith.

I pray for you today and agree with you, that when you are weak, you shall be strengthen, When you have no words to say, the Holy Spirit will help you to pray by giving you utterance, may your faith increase and may you stand your ground until you have your victory, in Jesus Christ name.

In the name of Jesus, let every chain and weight over your spirit, soul and body be broken.

Amen.

“That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God” 1 Corinthians 2: 5.

Don’t give up on yourself, that’s just what the devil wants you to do!

It’s tough sometimes to do the right thing. knowing also that ‘the right thing’ is subjective. But the only constant I have know is the word of God, and the only way to do the right thing is by going by and doing what it says.

“For the word of the Lord is right; and all His works are done in truth. “- Psalm 33:4.

“Every word of God is pure: He is a shield unto them that put their trust in Him. Add thou not unto His words, lest He reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.” –  Proverbs 30: 5-6.

In following the truth, don’t expect it to be all rosy, don’t expect too much encouragement, because most of the time, you won’t get it.

You would even expect to get some encouragement from people you look up to, but I’m pretty sure you have had your fair share of unexpected disappointments from people you probably thought highly of.

I know I have, and it has taught me never to allow my faith hinge on another human, else I would lose it and I would miss God.

The thought of that happening makes me cringe.

The thing is, people sometimes, out of their sincere love for you may hurt your faith unintentionally, so do not take it personal nor should you judge them. Rather, use their seeming rejection and judgement of you as a positive fuel for your faith.

Ask yourself these questions;

  1. What is the foundation of your faith? is it truly the undiluted word of God?
  2. Are you still in the faith or have you backslided?
  3. Are you still walking in the precepts of the Lord?
  4. Are you still following His commands in Joshua 1:8?
  5. Can you honestly link your belief and what you are hoping for to the word of God or does it contradict it?
  6. What has God impressed in your heart and does it align with your purpose? is it consistent with what He has been telling you since you knew the Lord?
  7. Can you honestly say that the witness in your spirit is from the Holy spirit? remember the word of God says in 1 John 4: 1- “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”
  8. So have you honestly allowed your convictions to be tested?

If you answers to these honest self examinations have been ‘Yes’ then you can be sure you are being led by the spirit and not the flesh.

Because sometimes we are simply honestly wrong as well, so keep checking with the word(s) you have received and what the word of God says about it. The word of God is the only true standard

If you find that you have honestly missed it, never be proud to admit your wrong, and when you do admit it, learn from it and move on, because you have actually grown a step taller in faith and humility. For the Lord grants grace to the humble and resists the proud.

But if you are convinced in your spirit that you are doing the right thing in accordance to His will for you, then I urge you to fight and do not give up.

You fight not with your fist, but by holding on to your faith.

The word of God says in 1 Timothy 6: 12 that we should fight the good fight of faith.

Yes, it is a fight, to have faith, but it is a good one! because if you are not fighting the good fight, you are fighting the bad fight, and that is the fight against good.

You are either fighting with good or fighting against good, and this is evil.

Believe it or not, we are at war, each one of us has to choose whether to fight the good fight or lose. There is no middle ground.

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In this world ye shall have many tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” – John 16: 33

Our Lord Jesus Christ did not say this to scare us, but He was only telling us the reality of the fall of Adam and the consequences of what his action has caused this world.

He stated this fact to actually open our eyes to the way out, the only way we can win is if we are on His side, then our victory is sure. both here and in heaven when we leave this world.

He didn’t give you those dreams and hopes just to frustrate you, no. He gave you these good desires and aspirations for you to indeed fulfill them.

So keep holding on, you are almost there, the lord’s on your side.

My prayer for you today, is that your strength  will be renewed in the inner man every day, more grace be released to you for every moment as you keep on fighting the good fight of faith. I pray that in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, you will indeed reach your goal, Amen.
